Your credit score is a big deal because it is a significant factor in approving or denying a loan application and in setting the interest rate and other loan terms. Also, the credit score is often used in getting a job or a promotion. In addition, insurance companies may use the score in determining insurance coverage premiums.
If you borrow wisely and are responsible with your debt obligations, a good credit score is likely. Making all payments on time and keeping credit card balances low are two very important factors for a good score. Other things that can help are to only apply for the credit you need and check your credit report for errors.
